Half Term Intensive Course 2023

With Alyona Solovkova and Viaceslav Baltaga.

This programme is open to ballet students from 9 to 16 years of age and students from professional schools, public or private. Intensive program includes ballet technique, pointe, repertoire (variations coaching), pas de deux and stretch classes. Students will be placed into two groups Juniors and Pre - Professional. Students will have the opportunity to work with highly experienced teachers and professional ballet dancers.

She studied pedagogy in classical dance – the Vaganova Method –at the Russian Theatre Institute (2009-2013), mentored by the Bolshoi prima ballerina and coach Svetlana Aderhaeva and Anna Leonova. Since 2020, she has taught at the renowned Central Ballet School under the direction of Bolshoi Prima Ballerina Ekaterina Shipulina. She has also taught in Brazil and given online classes in Greece and Taiwan. In 2022 she received the title of Consul of Dance, Official Member of the International Dance Council–UNESCO. In 2022, she participated in the presentation of an International Dance Networking Project at the International Dance Congress in Greece. Today Mariana is based in London, UK. She was awarded a Global Talent Visa UK, following letters of recommendation from Kevin O'Hare, Carlos Acosta, Alexey Ratmanskyand others. She has been recognized by the Arts Council as a dancer and teacher of Exceptional Global Talent.

Mariana, who arrived in London approximately a year ago, has made impressive strides in her ballet career, initially serving as Ballet Mistress at the esteemed New English Ballet Theatre, alongside renowned choreographers Wayne Eagling and Jenna Lee. Then, as Global Artistic Manager at the prestigious Ballet Icons Gala, Mariana was pivotal in organising ballet performances in Dubai and London. She has since made significant contributions to the production of the Ballet Without Borders gala in Zurich, and the Red Carpet gala in Rome. Currently, she is working on three exciting projects with Jacopo Tissi across various cities in Italy, while also collaborating with principal dancer David Soares on an enchanting gala in Canada. Alongside her accomplishments as a producer and curator, Mariana is highly regarded as a private ballet coach and an international artistic manager.

Alyona Solovkova

Alyona Solovkova studied at the Kazan state School of Ballet, Russia for 7 years. She was awarded a full scholarship to attend the Central School of Ballet, London and graduated in 2004. During her training at the CSB she performed with The Mariinsky ballet at the Royal Opera House. On graduating, she performed as a soloist at both the Constanta and Iasi Opera Houses in Romania. Alyona was Head of Children's Ballet at the London Russian Ballet School where she taught children and adults. She was also invited to choreograph pieces for the children in the school’s performances. Most recently Alyona was invited to teach in China where she taught children, choreographed and coached children for national and international competitions.

Viaceslav Baltaga

Viaceslav Baltaga graduated from the renowned Kyiv State Ballet Academy and was a principal ballet dancer in Romania for a number of years where he danced most of the iconic male roles, including the Jester in Swan Lake, Prince in Nutcracker and Mercutio in Romeo and Juliet. His teaching experience includes the state ballet school in Iasi, Romania and Danceworks and DanceAttic in London. He also has extensive experience in coaching rhythmic gymnasts in the ballet elements of their training. He was invited to teach and choreograph in China where he also coached children for national and international competitions. Viaceslav has attained his degree in teaching and choreography from the Kyiv National University of Culture and Arts.
